Kansas City Renter's Ordinance is now in effect.
In October 2007, ordinance No. 071046 was passed requiring that all occupied rental housing units within the City limits of Kansas City, Missouri, be registered with the City starting January 1, 2008. All landlords need to register with the City -- no charge. Check kcmo.org for more information and to register online. For those not in compliance, there will be a monthly fine from the City until registration has been completed.
