A friendly reminder...it is illegal in the city of Kansas City, MO to set off any fireworks. The police have been called in the past and will be called again as needed. Stray or unattended fireworks can destroy personal property. When caught, these people can be fined and serve jail time.
Be mindful of the neighborhood and go watch a professionsal fireworks display. Do not set off your own.
Here is the actual city ordinance:
Sec. 26-3309. Prohibition of fireworks.
Sec. 26-3309.1. Sale, use and possessing; definition.
(1) Except as hereinafter provided, it shall be unlawful for any person to possess, keep, offer for sale, expose for sale, sell at retail, use or explode any fireworks in the city.
(2) For the purposes of this section, the term "fireworks" shall mean and include any combustible or explosive composition, or any substances or combination of substances. |
